­RESONATE :: A City Based Walking Exercise

Saturday, September 20th

DESCRIPTION:
This is an all day interactive learning experience setup to engage our
creativity, expand our critical thinking, and push to have our hearts
become more malleable. We begin on the top of Bernal Hill where we
discuss the 7 threads of emerging culture and their intersection with
The Message of Jesus. After which, participants are led on a
guided/self-guided exploration of five of San Francisco's main
districts; Bernal Heights, The Mission, Mission-Dolores, The Castro and
The Tenderlion. The walk is designed take the ideas of the morning
session and watch them unfold as we engage with the city and you never
know what might happen or who you'll meet.

COST: $35, includes morning snack, and dinner

SKILLS WE WILL BE PRACTICING:

1. Prayer — according to patterns in Scripture.
2. Creativity — by making your own intercessory poetry, drawings or photographs.
3. Hospitality and listening — opening ourselves up to people, asking questions, and hearing their stories.
4. Walking — connecting physical exercise and spiritual exercise. NOTE:
(if you have walking limitations, we can modify your route to fit your
needs)
5. Partnership — we will be doing this day together as companion followers of Jesus.

GOALS OF THE EXERCISE:

1. To practice prayers of the Bible.
2. To gain exposure to a diversity of cultures and people groups.
3. To practice God's heart for all people.
4. To cross cultural and social boundaries
5. To practice spiritual formation in creative ways.
