Abolition.: An exercise in advocacy to end slavery

Abolition : Your choices matter

An estimated 27 million people are enslaved across the world today; many of them in San Francisco.  Human trafficking not only is the third largest criminal activity in our world but also the third most profitable criminal industry. We all participate in slavery through the global economy in which we live.  Your choices matter.  Join us.  In this six week learning lab we will participate in creative activism and contribute to the 'releasing of the captives'.
We will:

    * Follow in the Way of Jesus on this a social/global issue
    * Conduct a grassroots propaganda campaign
    * Develop eyes to recognize slavery through mapping and research
    * Cultivate an awareness of how our lifestyles impact slavery
    * Become the voice of the victims through letter writing, calling, and educating those in our circles of influence
    * Assist in the restoration of a sense of identity to victims by meeting the physical needs of local survivors
    * Learn ways that our personal skills can be used to abolish slavery
    * Invite others into the abolitionist movement through an art instillation
